The Starknet governance committee is proud to announce the launch of the second vote on Starknet protocol upgrade - Starknet Alpha v0.12.0. The vote is now live on [Snapshot](https://snapshot.org/#/starknet.eth/proposal/0xe3666dcfaecdd871bbad1c2f882861d2bb0a26eb27aeab36679c498f2a1c86c2), and will remain live for 5-days.

This forum post will be used to discuss v0.12.0 technicals in relation to a Mainnet upgrade triggered following the results of the governance vote.

# Starknet Alpha v0.12.0 Vote

Starknet Alpha v0.12.0 has been deployed on Goerli Testnet. Voters now have a 5-day period to examine the upgraded version as it runs on Goerli. During this time, they can vote whether to approve it for Mainnet deployment via Snapshot.

If the proposal gains a majority of ‘YES’ votes during the 5-day voting period, the proposal passes and Starknet Mainnet will be upgraded accordingly.

We expect a much wider set of participants for the v0.12 vote. This is because more teams building on Starknet have gotten access to STRK voting power through distribution channels like [Early Adopters Grants,](https://community.starknet.io/t/announcing-round-1-of-early-adopter-grants-eag/54269) Developer Partnerships, the [Builders Council](https://community.starknet.io/t/starknet-builders-council-mission-statement/4045), etc. Also, more token holders have chosen to delegate their voting power to [delegates](https://delegate.starknet.io/) (including the Starknet Foundation).

Everyone! Even those without voting power are welcome to voice their opinion about the v0.12.0 upgrade. We do ask you to do proper due diligence about the upgrade before posting to ensure quality discussion.
