# SNIP 18: Staking’s First Stage on Starknet

### Amendment to SNIP 18: Initial value and the adjustment of the yearly inflation cap aka _c_

#### Background

In light of the recent community [vote](https://governance.starknet.io/voting-proposals/5), SNIP 18 requires an update to reflect the decisions made regarding the yearly inflation cap AKA **c**.

#### Amendment Details

The initial value of **c** will be set at **1.6**. Following this, **c** can vary within the range of **1 to 4** based on the parameters established in the community vote. Adjustments to **c** will be made in accordance with the governance framework approved, ensuring that any changes reflect both protocol needs and community feedback.
