This is the first time I learn about the mechanism of gas fee. The current mechanism is quite interesting that it needs a service to estimate the gas fee. One thing that I realized that on Argent wallet I cannot customize fee like on metamask. I guess it relates to mechanism in this article. In the future, optimization to reduce the cost is great for users. I have not understood the last sentence that you said: " introducing fee abstraction will allow network participants to specify fees in tokens other than ETH". Is this mean we can pay fee using other tokens than ETH?

I have a little question about the base_fee or “gas price floor”. Only max_fee are mentioned, for a particular reason, specific to StarkNet?
Are there any plans to implement this at a later date, or has the question not yet arisen?
For example:
Arbitrum have currently 0.1 gwei gas fees like base_fee for any transactions
Optimism have currently 0.001 gwei gas fees like base_fee for any transactions

‘base_fee’ is a concept related to EIP-1559, given that Arbitrum and Optimism have forked Ethereum and end up with the same codebase.
