Fees reduction on top of deflation will definitely make Starknet more attractive. Fees can be considered as excessive for many at times and thereās no doubt this is a necessary step towards making the chain frictionless.

Itās huge step by Starknet towards decentralisation of protocol. Use of STRK as gas will end eager need of ETH. No L2 till date used itās native token as fuel for network. By doing this, Starknet will become first L2 to provide new and huge utility for native token. Congratulations to Starknet & Starkware team and all devs who made this posible. 
I really sopport this upgrade cause Starknet Alpha v0.13.0 will join the race of small Gas fee like Manta, celetia and the rest of network that will allow users to come from web2 to web3 some find it diffecult because Gas fee is too high on other chains but reducing the Gas fee will make more user friendly
I personally think that StarkNet has a huge potential to be in the top 5, if not 3.

Reducing the gas fee will be a huge step towards GameFi. This signals a huge progress track for Starknet.

This upgrade definitely has pros and cons.
We will have a fee reduction, which will lead to an increase in onchain activity.
But also we have fee mechanism changing. Itās the first complex ātest in prodā AA among all L2s and sidechains, isnāt it? Initially, it definitely will bottleneck for UX, devs and a potential decentralised networks of sequencers/provers .

Adding utilities to STRK that can be used as gas is a good thing. For mass adoption, USDC or other stablecoins should be able to be used as gas.
I agree with making STRK a fee. In that case, it would be better if there is a mechanism to burn STRK as well, like eip1559. Currently most of the tokens called governorance tokens are almost meme coin. More authentic utilities strk should have.
An important step to make the entire Starknet ecosystem attractive to the masses. It has immense potential, starting with multisig wallets, which give greater security to the user. Lowering the fees with a native token will make Starknet one of the most used layers.
