Date: 21 January 2026
Host: Robert (SNF)
Discussants: Ohad (SW), Henri (SNF)
Recording: here

January 5th Network Incident. Ohad provided a transparent overview of the 18-minute reorg and ~4 hour downtime:

  • Root cause: Edge case where sequencer and prover handled internal call reverts differently
  • Prover detected the inconsistency, triggering the alert
  • Network shut down within ~8 minutes of alert; bug isolated in ~2 hours
  • Action items: Comprehensive fuzzing project initiated; automatic network halt on proving inconsistency to reduce future reorg time to <5 minutes

Q4 2025 Poll Results. Over 200M STRK participated across five community polls:

  • Top 2026 priority: Privacy breakthrough (50%+), followed by proof verifications and <3hr L1 finality
  • 83% feel they can influence the Starknet roadmap
  • 62% feel they know the roadmap (26% neutral, indicates need for better visibility)
  • 75% use Starknet daily

2026 Version Roadmap. Ohad shared updates on planned releases:

  • v0.14 (March): STARK proof verification within Starknet (initially trusted via gateways); L1 finality reduced to <3 hours worst-case
  • September target: Decentralized validation milestone
  • Further L1 finality improvements planned (1.5 hours worst-case)
  • Fee structure overhaul under consideration, documentation coming for community feedback

Delegate Program Changes. Henri announced changes to optimize for engagement over raw delegation numbers:

  • Mandatory email contact for vote notifications
  • Tier adjustment system: Non-participating delegates moved down one tier after each vote (Tier 1 → 2 → 3 → removed)
  • Delegate addresses to be published before each vote for transparency

Governance Hub Updates. Robert shared V1 and V2 plans:

  • V1 (ASAP): Combining on-chain votes (Snapshot X) and off-chain polls (Snapshot) into single interface
  • V2: Overview tab with active proposals banner, vote timers; enhanced delegate leaderboard and profiles
