Does a full node validate transactions?

I’m interested to run a full node to learn and participate the network. I bought a all-in-one box. I haven’t received it yet. I’m just curious if the node will validate the transactions in the future version? If so, whick milestone is it in? Is there any document I can learn? Thanks

Starknet talked about the future of nodes on Twitter a few days ago and said:

Nodes monitoring the state of Starknet only need to verify proofs, not individual transactions.

This significantly reduces the hardware requirements for running a node, allowing for greater decentralization.

Your toaster might soon run a Starknet node!

You can still read the GitHub of Papyrus, Pathfinder, and Juno to find more information.
